Tight hamstrings.
Is there anyone that does not need to do some work to loosen the hamstrings?
I’m sure they exist, but it is rare!
The Cossack Squat is a great movement to stretch the hamstring and improve mobility, agility, balance, and coordination.
All that from one move?
YES!
Start in a long, low lunge stance.
Turn the back foot to a 45 degree angle and pressthe heel into the ground.
Slowly begin to shift the weight towards the back foot by straightening the front leg.
Sink low and stretch the now extended front leg.
Use the hands to assist with balance or to decreasethe resistance if the knees are creaky or crabby.
Then, like a game of workout limbo, shift to the front leg by staying as low as possible, and extend the back leg.
Feel the stretch!
Stay on each side for 5 full breathes, or get into a flow and shift side-to-side in time with the breath.
